We tried their nasi kandar with ayam goreng, udang kari, ayam bawang, and kubis goreng, and everything tasted good. The highlight was definitely the kuah campur, which was rich, flavourful, and well balanced. Worth the 10-minute queue. Prices are reasonable, and the washrooms were clean with plenty available. Parking is available across the road; we arrived around 11.40am and still found a spot. Do bring an umbrella as it can get quite hot while queuing.

Be prepared to queue if you want to savour nasi kandar from this viral spot. Touted as one of the best, had to endure standing in the heat for 35 minutes. Is it the best I've tasted? No. Not bad, but certainly not the best. Looking at the crowd, perhaps the management can consider a little renovation to cater to the comfort of the customers eating and queueing.

Quite disappointed with the flavors. The curry itself and chicken didnt satisfy our appetite. The place is so popular always got long queu but once is your turn, the service was quite fast. What we enjoyed here was the experience of the local nasi kandar.

In Penang for just 3 days and Deens was so good we went twice!!! Watched videos ahead of our trip so we knew the ordering drill. Long line when we arrived and ordering was manic (for us newbies) but efficient. Both times we ordered Set B for chicken (ayam) and Set D for fish (ikan), but both times there was some pronunciation confusion around Set D. So best to clarify when you order by saying “Set D Nasi Ikan…fish.” When you get the set you can also add other things so in on our 2nd visit I also added a piece of fish to my Set B. Also to note, drinks are dealt with at the cash register - my fave was Teh Tarik (with or without ice) a local sweet pulled tea. Meal looked, um, manic, but was absolutely amazing with a unique mix of flavors, some of the best chicken and fish ever, and a great local feel. And lastly, as a testament to their reputation, every Grab driver (I’ll never forget how the drivers’ eyes lit up when my wife and I were chatting about it in the back seat) and hotel person we mentioned Deens to had an instant happy reaction as well as advice on how / what to order which boiled down to “the sauces are amazing, just let them do their thing” (you’ll understand when you get to watch it). We will definitely be back!

Just WOW, what a unique experience to have been at this Nasi Kandar! First off get there on time, they open at 12pm so if you get there just around that hour the line isn't to bad. As we got there at we hit the 12:30 hour mark it was already getting a long line behind us. As soon as it's your turn they will just start throwing food on your plate! Haha I kept saying yes until I realized there was no more room on the plate! No regrets though, full of flavours and my god it was cheap! My plate ended costing 25rm. Go get this food it's worth it!
