I’ve been here many times, and this dim sum house is consistently good. All the dim sum dishes are quite special and taste very good. My favourite is the organic chee cheong fun — the outer layer is soft, while the inside is fried, giving it a very unique and enjoyable texture. The glutinous rice chicken and fried rice are also delicious and definitely worth trying. For most dim sum items, the staff will walk around and show you the dishes, then ask what you would like. Only certain items listed on the menu need to be ordered separately. The prices are reasonable — slightly on the higher side, but similar to other dim sum restaurants in the area, so it’s acceptable. The tea price is also reasonable, as it’s charged per person rather than by the teapot. The restaurant opens very early in the morning and is already crowded at that time. Weekdays are a bit less busy if you prefer a quieter visit.

Wah Lee Dim Sum is such a satisfying spot in Ipoh. The food was delicious with very well-balanced flavours—nothing overpowering, just clean, comforting tastes that really let the ingredients shine. Everything came out hot and fresh, which made the experience even better. The flavours were so good they genuinely increased my appetite (dangerous in the best way 😆). Service was great too—friendly, efficient, and attentive. A must-visit if you’re in Ipoh and craving proper dim sum. I’ll definitely be back!

The food here is excellent with a fantastic variety of dim sum! What makes this place stand out (in a good way) compared to the big-name dim sum restaurants in Ipoh is that it’s rarely overcrowded. You can enjoy your meal in peace without people hovering behind you, waiting for your table. During peak times or holidays, those other popular spots can feel stressful and rushed — this one doesn’t have that problem at all. Service is also very good. They hire local staff who really understand your orders and requests. Overall, it’s a relaxing and delicious dim sum experience!
